WHEREAS, Bob Weimer is an exemplary teacher, music director, conductor, musician, leader, visionary, advocate, role model, mentor and friend, and;
WHEREAS, during 35 years as an Instrumental Music Teacher, Bob Weimer created and maintained one of the most successful instrumental music programs in the State of Ohio, and;
WHEREAS, in his role as Instrumental Music Director at Woodward Park Middle School, and other schools including Northland High School, Bob Weimer inspired his students to greatness, instilling and nurturing in them his passion for music, and;
WHEREAS, Bob Weimer showed his middle school students how to be the best they could be, and he continued to help them grow in their musicianship through high school, college, and in many cases their professional music careers, and;
WHEREAS, Bob Weimer has earned the deep and heartfelt respect of fellow musicians, teachers, students, administrators, parents, community members, and members of Northland Instrumental Music Parents Association, and;
WHEREAS, Bob Weimer is the personification of Northland Instrumental Music Parents Association’s ideal, being one of Northland High School’s greatest advocates and supporters of instrumental music, and;
WHEREAS, Bob Weimer has elected to retire from the Columbus Public School System after teaching and directing Instrumental Music for 35 years, including 4 years at Northland High School and 25 years at Woodward Park Middle School, and;
WHEREAS, Bob Weimer will be greatly missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing him and working with him at Woodward Park Middle School and Northland High School.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of the Northland Instrumental Music Parents Association that Bob Weimer be granted the membership status of Honorary Life Member, and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as Honorary Life Member Bob Weimer has earned the right to continue supporting Northland’s Instrumental Music Program, but henceforth as a "NIMPA volunteer," and;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Bob Weimer shall always possess the love, admiration, and respect of all who have had the privilege of knowing him, all who have seen him work his musical magic with their children, and all who participate as members and past members of the Northland Instrumental Music Parents Association.
