Symphonic Band

At Northland High School, we have the unique opportunity to offer an educational program consisting of two performing concert groups. These groups are referred to as the Symphonic Band and the Concert Band. The bands are open only to those students who are members of the Marching Band. The only exceptions are for varsity football players, varsity cheerleaders, and those students with valid medical excuses.

The Symphonic Band is reserved for the truly talented student who has achieved a level of performing difficult literature. This band is open to all grades and acceptance will be determined through auditions. Symphonic Band meets 1st period after the completion of the marching band season. Our purpose for having two groups is not to distinguish between good and bad, but only to serve the proper needs of those students who are interested in advancing their musical knowledge.

The Symphonic Band distinguished themselves in the 2003 and 2004 OMEA District Contest in Class A; earning straight 1's, and a rating of Superior both years!
